El Golfo Lake declared a natural reserve with a landscape used as a backdrop for the cinema
It is the crater of an ancient volcano that emerges from the Atlantic Ocean and forms a lake that is known by that name. And which has been declared a nature reserve. The opportunity to see a beautiful contrast of colors between the green color of this lake, the black color of the sand of the beach of El Golfo and the blues of the sky and the sea. This landscape has been used as a backdrop for films, notably in Almodóvar's film The Broken Embraces. It is best appreciated from the El Golfo lookout, accessible from a path leading from the car park at the top of the village.
