BAHA'I TEMPLE
This Baha'i temple in Sydney is the only one of its kind in Australia.
The Baha'i religion emerged in Iran in the first half of the 19th century. It is a syncretism derived from Shiite Islam, whose goal is to unite all the peoples of the world in a universal cause and a common faith. The founder of the religion is Siyyid Ali Muhammad (1819-1850). Today, Baha'i claims 6 million followers worldwide and advocates brotherhood, gender equality and charity. This Baha'i temple is the only one in Australia, where the Baha'i Faith has been present since 1920. To date, there are 7 Bahá'í Houses of Worship in the world.
