GOVERNMENT HOUSE
Governors' residence designed by English architect Edward Blore, located in Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens.
Located in the Royal Botanic Garden, the construction of this building, which was the home of the governors from 1846 to 1996, was quite epic. In 1996, its management was handed over to the Sydney Living Museums. Since 2013, Government House has once again been the residence of the Governor of New South Wales , and its management, including public visits, was taken over by the official services in 2015. Designed by English architect Edward Blore, responsible for Buckingham Palace in London, it is a sophisticated example of a New South Wales Gothic Revival building.
