It was built between 1835 and 1839 for Alexander Macleay and his family, then Colonial Secretary of New South Wales and a noted naturalist. It is a venue for cultural events and exhibitions. From the porch, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Elizabeth Bay. You can visit it freely or ask the reception staff for information. There are also paper guides available in French.
