KIRRIBILLI HOUSE
This Kirribilli House, with its breathtaking views, is the official residence of Australia's Prime Minister in Sydney
Kirribilli House, dating from 1854, is the Australian Prime Minister's second home in Sydney (the main residence being in Canberra, Australia's capital). It is situated on the edge of the harbour, with breathtaking views over Sydney. In 1996, then Prime Minister John Howard attracted a great deal of criticism when he announced at the start of his first government that he would use Kirribilli House as his principal residence. He would only go to Canberra when necessary for parliamentary or government meetings.
