SPIT BRIDGE
Bridge installed 10 kilometers northeast of the City, linking the suburbs of Mosman (north bank) and Seaforth (south bank).
Spit Bridge is a Sydney Harbour bascule bridge, located 10 km northeast of the City. It connects the suburb of Mosman, on the south shore, with the suburb of Seaforth, on the north shore. Construction began in 1952 and was completed in 1958. The 10 km walk from Spit Bridge to Manly provides an opportunity to see many traces of Aboriginal culture preserved in the rock. In 2003, it was listed as a city heritage site for playing "a crucial role in enabling the development of the northern beach suburbs over the past 44 years."
