SUSANNAH PLACE MUSEUM
Museum in the heart of The Rocks, with written and photographic records of working-class life.
Located in the heart of The Rocks, this museum provides an opportunity to discover a typical set of terraced houses built by Irish immigrants in 1844, and where more than 100 families lived until 1990. Using written and photographic materials from public and private collections, the museum tells the story of the often overlooked life of the working class and of this neighborhood, redeveloped in the 1970s on former slums. The store that the Youngein family ran in 1915 has been faithfully recreated and features merchandise from that era.
