JUNIPER HALL
Two-storey colonial house converted into an art gallery built by Robert Cooper (a Gin distiller) in 1824
Robert Cooper, a gin distiller, built this two-story colonial house in 1824. Named Juniper Hall, after the juniper berries used to concoct the drink of the same name, the house became an orphanage after Cooper's death, and was converted into a museum in 1980. After many ups and downs involving the local community and investors for several years, Juniper Hall was finally sold in 2012 before being transformed into a beautiful art gallery. We advise you to have a look at it!
