Discovery of the middle mountain lake, also called Sainte-Alyre lake, which is located in Saint-Alyre-ès-Montagne.
At the place called Jassy, discover this mid-mountain lake at an altitude of 1,216 meters. Also called "lac de Sainte-Alyre", it is originally a peat bog lake of the Cézallier which has been enlarged. You can see a stream that feeds the Couze d'Ardes, 1.5 km away. A path allows you to walk around the lake and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains in the background. In winter, they are covered with a snowy coat, making the show even more beautiful. As an added bonus, the lake is easy to access: you can park at the trailhead.
