Built in 1995, this Temple of Southern Paradise or Nana Tien Temple is one of Wollongong's major attractions.

Nan Tien Temple, or "Temple of Southern Paradise", belongs to one of the branches of the Fo Guang Shan temples, an order founded in 1967 by the Venerable Master Hsing Yun, which comprises over 120 temples worldwide. The Nan Tien Temple was built in 1995 and is one of the city's major attractions, a soothing site where you can stroll in complete serenity. There's also a vegetarian restaurant, a tea room and a 100-room lodge for pilgrims. The Nan Tien Institute (NTI) can accommodate 3,000 students.
