A favorite with skiers and hikers, this park in Cooma is home to the highest mountain in the country.

The park was named after Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a Polish and American War of Independence hero. The park is home to Mount Kosciuszko (2,228 m), the highest mountain in the country. Its borders are contiguous with those of Alpine National Park (Victoria) and Namadgi National Park (ACT). The mountainous terrain, its fauna and flora characteristic of the alpine climate make this place a favorite place for skiers and hikers but also for speleology enthusiasts (Yarrangobilly and Cooleman Plain).
