INFORMATION BINNA BURRA
Binna Burra, located in Lamington National Park, is an exceptional tourist destination. The park, declared in 1915, covers 21,176 hectares and offers numerous hiking trails along the McPherson mountain range. Visitors can explore the area's forests, streams and waterfalls. Lamington's spectacular vistas offer breathtaking views of the Gold Coast, south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales. The park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, which comprises the world's largest areas of subtropical rainforest. However, due to high visitor numbers, the park faces pressures such as litter, erosion and wildlife disturbance. Visitors are encouraged to follow park guidelines to protect this delicate environment. Open fires are not permitted in the park; only fuel-burning stoves are allowed. In addition, it is important to prevent the spread of pathogens and to respect the sensitive habitats of endangered species such as frogs.
