Located on the shores of Murray Lagoon, Rockhampton Botanic Garden is considered one of Australia's finest regional gardens. Recently listed, the park is home to dense tropical vegetation, shaded areas, a fruit tree section and a tranquil Japanese garden. The Gardens Tearoom is particularly popular as a place to take a break for lunch. Huge fig trees complete the panorama: a good breath of fresh air in the middle of the city! The site also includes a small free zoo.
