Situated on the water's edge and close to the marina, this restaurant stands out for its local gastronomy with original flavors. It offers dishes based on crocodile, kangaroo, shellfish and fish flavored with Australian spices. The dishes are hearty and the cuisine high quality. You'll have a great time in a sublime setting, inviting you to escape into the bush with the aromas of this delicate cuisine. We recommend their 3-course menu at AU$ 85 for gourmets in the evening. The lunchtime menus (with drinks) are also excellent value for money!

A WOW dining experience that you will really remember! Ochre combines aboriginal ingredients and flavors into contemporary international dishes to bring together a unique menu - that you will have a lot of trouble tasting elsewhere!
The kangaroo was cooked to perfection, the steaks were delicious and the Pacific Bugs were absolutely yummy!
Service is so friendly and the location is just the cherry on top!

While the seafood at this modern Australian restaurant was mediocre, the atmosphere was lacking and hectic. The dining experience fell short of expectations, leaving much to be desired.
You better skip this resto and go somewhere else when being in Cairns

Beautiful restaurant, air conditioned inside, great drinks and food menu, lots to choose from and 2 & 3 course deals with a drink.
Food was amazing, well presented, some of my scallops were cold when they hit the table, but still edible.

So the idea of this place is to showcase native Australian bush ingredients in modern, gourmet cuisine by using such ingredients to create similar flavour profiles to more mainstream ingredients e.g. Betel leaf, Davidson Plum, Bush Tomatoes etc. It's an awesome concept that works.
Special mention to Gin our server/FOH who was obviously super passionate about food and proud to present the dishes to us, knowing they're fantastic.
Couldn't fault it. Highly recommend.
