This museum explores the heritage of the Mataranka region. It is the only museum in town. Outdoor exhibit on the history of the pioneers, the railroad and the Overland Telegraph. There is also a bush workshop and information on the military history of the area during World War II. There is also an opportunity to learn more about the famous book We of the Never Never, which tells the story of life on the Elsey Ranch. It is said that when you visit Mataranka, "you'll never never leave.
