ALICE SPRINGS DESERT PARK
Alice Springs Park for bird shows and displays of kangaroos, emus, dingoes and reptiles.
Seven kilometers from the center and at the foot of the West Macs, this park offers a great introduction to the flora and fauna of the Red Centre, but will also satisfy biologists and botanists who want to learn more about the arid and semi-arid zones. A walk will take you through the three main ecosystems of the region: the riverbeds and other permanent or semi-permanent waterholes that create a lot of life, the forests with their tortured trees, and the sandy areas with their spinifex. The Nocturnal House is not to be missed: you'll discover marsupials, macropods and reptiles that move around after dark, so at least you'll know what to expect if you go camping! Among the activities along the day, we especially recommend going to see the bird show. Birds from the surrounding area come here to show you their skills. Presentation on kangaroos, emus, dingoes but also the little horned devils, these reptiles that eat ants all day long. The park also offers a lot of information about the way of life of the Aborigines of the region, hunting, gathering and water search. Night tours are offered in the evening, to be booked. The park is very invested in the protection of animals and runs programs to rehabilitate species in their natural habitat. It is easy to spend long hours here, and the on-site café provides refreshments if needed. Bring your own water.

Galeries avec insectes et reptiles que l'on a pas vraiment envie de rencontrer dans la nature. Présence d'une volière avec de nombreux oiseaux et présence de quelques kangourous.
