MARUKU ARTS
Site featuring wood carvings, canvas paintings and jewelry produced by artists from the Anangu communities.
Maruku Arts offers wood carvings, canvas paintings, and jewelry, which are produced by more than 500 artists living in 25 different Anangu communities, in the NT, but also in Western and South Australia - state boundaries being the last concern of the Aboriginal nations! Woodcarvings, Punu, are a local specialty and use fire to represent myths, or simply the wildlife of the region. Maruku also organizes workshops on Aboriginal art and guided walks.
