This historic site in Melbourne is a popular destination for walkers, offering breathtaking views of the city.
The Pier offers a fantastic view of the city. The history of St Kilda Pier began in 1853 during the construction of a wooden pier to facilitate the early unloading of wood and construction materials in St Kilda. Shortly after its construction, the little jetty was the victim of a storm and was lost. Several other wharves were built in the 1800 s to respond to increased trade. Kilda Pier reached its current size in the 1970 s.
