MILDURA CASTLE
A major wine-growing region with more than 800 producers producing some 300,000 tonnes of world-famous wine.
The Darling Mildura Murray is one of Australia's largest wine-growing regions, with over 800 growers on more than 15,000 hectares. The region produces almost 300,000 tonnes a year of the world's best-known wines. It would be a shame not to visit at least one of the many estates along the way. Chardonnay is the dominant grape variety, followed by shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Part of the estate is now accessible as a museum. An interesting visit, to be combined with a wine tasting!
