THE CEDARS
This residence, once the home and studio of the great painter Hans Heysen, invites visitors to discover his studio.
This family residence was the home and studio of the great Australian painter Hans Heysen. An exhibition features his daughter Nora, also a painter. Hans Heysen was awarded several prizes during his career, including the prestigious Wynne Prize, which he won 11 times between 1904 and 1932. He was also a member of the National Gallery of South Australia and was awarded the title of Sir in 1959. The tour takes in Heysen's studio, some 200 of his works (mainly pastels) and the estate's extensive garden.
