MOUNT WELLINGTON
At 1,271 meters above sea level, Mount Wellington offers magnificent views of Hobart and the surrounding area.
Kunanyi/Mount Wellington, the official name since 2013, overlooks Hobart from its 1,271 m. Its summit, from which the view of Hobart and its surroundings is magnificent, is reached by an impressive 12 km drive through forest and dolerite rocks from Fern Tree. The site is windy and frequently covered with snow, even in summer. Nevertheless, it is one of the city's major attractions and many people flock to it to enjoy the view. There is a weather station and a nice shelter to watch the surroundings when the weather is bad.
