Australia's oldest brewery, founded in 1824 by two Englishmen! The pure water from Mount Wellington was used to create what is said here to be an exceptional beer, sold as early as 1932. Partially destroyed in 1967 by the fires ravaging Tasmania, Cascade Brewery has risen from the ashes. Guided tours are available in 2 options: Historic Tour (without access to the actual brewery ) and Brewery Tour (with tasting). You can sample the brewery's production (beer and cider) in the neighboring café, which boasts a superb garden.
