Former workhouse for women prisoners to attend a theatrical performance of "The Proud and the Punished".
This former workhouse for women prisoners was operational between 1828 and 1856. Today, it is one of the 11 sites that make up the Australian Convict Sites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will give you a good insight into life and work at the Female Factory in the 1800s. For an even livelier visit, you can attend a 60-minute performance at 1pm on weekends and Tuesdays (AU$40).
