THE BLIGH MUSEUM OF PACIFIC EXPLORATION
Museum dedicated to the exploration of the Pacific, with documents recounting the history of famous navigators and explorers.
The foundation stone of this building was laid in 1954, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Vice Admiral William Bligh (best known for the mutiny he suffered while in command of the Bounty in April 1789). The museum is dedicated to the exploration of the Pacific by famous navigators and explorers, including those who discovered or visited Tasmania. Numerous documents allow a better understanding of the history of these great men.
