SAINTE-FOY CHURCH
Church modified in the century by the Jesuits to match their Baroque style
Priory church built during the second half of the 12th century, its basilical plan with transept is a classic of Rhenish art. It was modified in the 18th century by the Jesuits to correspond to their baroque style, especially in the furniture. Contemplate the superb 1733 pulpit created by Ignatius of Saint-Lô, which recounts the life of Saint Francis Xavier. The capitals of the nave, some of which date back to the 12th century, are remarkable. The original stained glass windows are no longer visible because they were replaced at the end of the 19th century.
