Glen Derwent, probably one of the oldest hotels in Tasmania, is surrounded by 20 acres of English gardens with centuries-old European trees. Built by convicts in 1820, the main building, master horse stables, cottages and barn are faithfully restored. Heated pool, cricket lawn. The setting alone is worth spending the night in, you feel good, rested and relaxed. On the spot, you have the choice of cottages for two people, camping sites, or rooms in the main building.
