SALMON PONDS
Trout and salmon rearing station beautifully nestled in gardens with century-old trees in New Norfolk.
A few minutes north of New Norfolk is the small town of Plenty, home to the Salmon Ponds, a steelhead, brown trout and salmon rearing station. Established in 1864, this station is the oldest trout breeding station in Australia. It is still in operation today to restock the central plateau lakes. Beautifully nestled in beautiful gardens with ancient trees, it is the ideal place for a picnic. There is a fishing museum, a café and a restaurant with a speciality of stuffed pancakes.
