Excellent snorkeling at Whalers Cove, protected by rocks (used by whalers in the past). Note that the beaches of Mutonbird (to the west) and Nanarup (to the east) have excellent reputations among surfers. You can rent a surfboard in town, for example at Totally Sports & Surf. Salmon Holes, as the name suggests, is one of the places to bring your fishing rod.
