Beautiful beaches, perfect for regatta enthusiasts, in Caprera.

Less frequented by tourists and less noisy than those of the main island, the beaches of Caprera are much more beautiful. Surrounded by a few boats during the summer, they are very popular with regatta enthusiasts because of the westerly wind which blows at over 40 km/h without interruption. The most important sailing school in Italy, the Centro Velico di Caprera, founded in 1967, is located here. One negative point, however, is the cars that drive on the sandy tracks across the island, contributing to the noise pollution.

Cala Garibaldi. This is the first beach you come across after crossing the bridge. Bathed in crystal clear waters, this golden sandy beach is a nice first stop

On the eastern side of the island , accessible only by a path that can only be taken with a guide, Cala Coticcio is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. Nicknamed Tahiti, it is characterized by pink granite rocks. Unfortunately, in summer it is overcrowded. Further south, Cala Brigantina, protected by Mount Telaione, is very popular with snorkellers.

At the southern end of the island, on the isthmus that joins Caprera to the small island of Rossa, the beach of Cala Portese is surrounded by small dunes of very fine sand.

In the north of Rossa Island , three small pink beaches are accessible only by boat, but you have to be careful with the reefs hidden a few meters from the coast.

On the eastern side of Isola Rossa , a wreck lies on the foreshore of the white beach of Relitto. This area of the park is completely protected: sport fishing and diving are prohibited. Not far from there, continuing southwards, the beach of Punta Rossa, surrounded by pink granite reefs, is also protected. Returning to the isthmus that joins Caprera to the island of Rossa, we come to the two small beaches of Cala Portese. They are located on either side of the path that crosses the isthmus, the Istmo dei Due Mari.

Continuing southwest from Caprera, you can easily reach the beach of Porto Palma by car. The very small beaches of Monte Fico, at the end of the island, are only accessible by boat.

On the west side of the island, Cala di Stagnali, where fishermen moor their boats today, was used by the military of the village Stagnali as a supply point in the early 1900s.

If you arrive by bus, you can go down to the first cove by a small dirt road. It is very beautiful.
