NURAGHE MAJORI
Nuraghe "in corridor" and "tholos", the best preserved of Tempio Pausania.
At the northern exit of the city, on the road to Monti Pulchiana. The site, dated to around 1400 BC, is of modest size. It is probably the best preserved of the 22 nuraghes of the Tempio Pausania area and has the particularity of being both "corridor" and "tholos". Its entrance is oriented in such a way that it does not have to suffer the mistral wind and to enjoy the light. Inside, a central corridor separates the nuraghe into two oval rooms, covered with a tholos roof. The room on the left houses a colony of bats from April to October.
