NURAGHE IZZANA
Nuraghe "mixed" the best preserved of Gallura.
The nuraghe of Izzana is the best preserved in Gallura. Unfortunately it is a little difficult to reach, at the end of a dusty earth track. It is part of these "mixed" nuraghes, to the architecture in corridor, but to the ceilings to tholos. For this reason, archaeologists believe that it dates back to around 1500 BC. The original tower has a triangular plan and is 7 metres high. The nuraghe has two entrances. The central chamber rises to the full height of the tower and has a tholos ceiling.
