MUSEO DEL BANDITISMO
Museum preserving a beautiful collection of weapons, photographs and various objects in Aggius.
Aggius is famous for its wool carpet weaving. But it is also famous on the island for having been the epicentre of banditry for almost three centuries, from the 16th to the 19th century, from the Spanish to the Savoy domination. The inhabitants of Aggius were masters in wheat smuggling. In 1766, the Viceroy issued a decree promising the destruction of any house housing a bandit. An exhibition traces its history through a collection of weapons, objects, photographs and various documents.
