Thousands of Sardinians proudly wear the costume of their village. A timeless festival, one of the most important on the island.
For once, this festival has no religious motivation. Created in 1951, the Cavalcata Sarda celebrates spring with a fantastic ride through the streets of Sassari. The Sardinians show off the diversity of their traditional costumes and adorn their horses with bell yokes and ribbons embroidered with floral motifs. The colorful and lively parade continues with folk dances, traditional songs and poetry recitals in Sardinian. It is a unique opportunity to appreciate the Sardinian culture in the north of the island.
