FACTORY PALAZZO
Mansion now housing the municipal library dated 1577 in Sassari
The mansion that now houses the municipal library dates from 1577. It is the first Renaissance-style building in Sardinia. It was commissioned by Don Jayme Manca, an important merchant and politician from Sassari. The building is built on the foundations of a late Gothic style house. It has undergone some modifications, including the addition of the third floor in the 18th century and the side openings that frame the imposing central portal. The window paintings and the portico are made of diamond-tipped limestone.
