CORSO VITTORIO EMANUELE
Very lively boulevard, lined with sumptuous 16th century Aragonese palaces
It's the main artery of the old town. Very lively, this boulevard is lined with sumptuous 16th century Aragonese palaces such as Casa Guarino or Casa Farris. It starts from piazza Sant'Antonio and the church Sant'Antonio Abate and goes down to piazza Castello and its museum of the Sassari Brigade installed in the former barracks La Marmora. This square owes its name to a fort built by the Spaniards in 1330 and destroyed at the end of the 19th century. It is here that the inhabitants of Sassari go shopping.
