Site with the largest prehistoric cemetery in Sardinia

Discovered by chance in 1903, this site contains the largest prehistoric cemetery in Sardinia. 38 artificial funerary caves(domus de janas) and a grave with pits were dug into an outcrop of soft sandstone rock. The tombs in the necropolis date back to the Ozieri culture (3,300 - 2,900 BC). They are all multi-cellular and some of the tombs have bull's heads carved on the wall and enigmatic symbols.
