Museum telling the history of coral, installed in a beautiful Liberty villa
Located in a beautiful Liberty villa, this museum tells the story of the precious living organism coral, or Corallium Rubrum, whose fishing has been a specialty of Alghero for centuries. Fishing, processing and jewellery techniques are presented here. A fascinating journey through the marine ecosystem that also warns of the worrying decline of red coral in the Mediterranean. Today, coralers are forced to dive to a depth of more than 100 m to find them!
