CAVE DI SAN MICHELE
Cave located near the hospital south of the city in Ozieri
The cave is located near the hospital, south of the city. The discoveries made in this cave have allowed to name the culture that succeeded Arzachena: the Ozieri culture. Human remains have been found there, as well as very fine ceramics and statuettes of deities. The culture of Ozieri (3200-2800 BC) is distinguished by its abandonment of urban centres to the countryside and a more rustic life. The inhabitants occupied either caves, as in Ozieri, or huts made of branches.
