Demolished church preserving the new convent of the Carmelites
This church was built in 1779 on top of the church of the Madonna del Soccorso. The Carmelites inherited it in 1606 when they were looking for a new place to set up their convent. Until then they had been housed next to the church of Sant'Antonio Abate, but their convent had become unsanitary due to its proximity to the Temo river. The new Carmelite convent was preserved when the church of the Madonna del Soccorso was demolished. It has been abandoned since 1810.
