NURAGHE LOSA
Nuraghe surrounded by 2 large fortifications consisting of a three-lobed bastion in black basalt
Losa is one of the best preserved nuraghes of Sardinia. It is constituted by a three-lobed bastion in black basalt and surrounded by two big fortifications. Its aspect remains imposing in spite of the collapse of the top of the tower. Its walls circumscribe an area of about 300 m in length and 100 to 200 m in width. The central tower dates from the 11th century BC and the outer walls from the 6th century BC, i.e. from the period of Carthaginian domination. You can also see the remains of villages dating from the Punic and Roman periods. A must see!
