Every July 7, one of the most impressive celebrations in Sardinia takes place: hundreds of intrepid riders gather to race theArdia in the small village of Sedilo, in the center of the island. This frantic horse race is organized in honor of the Roman emperor Constantine. Although he was never sanctified by the Church, the Sardinians call him San Costantino because of his legendary compassion for the weakest and most needy.
