MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO - VILLA SULCIS
Archaeological museum presenting ancient collections from private research and wild excavations
Villa Sulcis, the former home of the director of the Carbonia mines, was refurbished to house the Archaeological Museum in 2008. The three rooms exhibit the ancient collections of Pispisa and Doneddu, which were obtained from private research and wild excavations. They are enriched by more recent acquisitions. The collection covers a period from prehistory to the Middle Ages. In particular, the statue of Astarte discovered on the Phoenician-Punic site of Monte Sirai can be admired.
