Church with a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary above the altar
Very small and not included in the tourist circuits, this church is a jewel to be discovered absolutely. White on the outside, its walls are painted in celestial blue on the inside. This church was built to commemorate the coral fishermen of Pegli, who died under the Tunisian domination of the island of Tabarka where they came from. A wooden statue of the virgin, in the niche above the altar, was found on a beach in Tunisia.
