Basilica in the square where St. Saturnin was martyred, one of the oldest Christian monuments in Sardinia.
It is one of the oldest Christian monuments in Sardinia. The first structure dates from the 4th or5th century and is said to have been built on the very spot where St Saturnin was martyred in 304. A dome was added to it in the Byzantine period. In the 11th century, the monks of Saint-Victor de Marseille gave it a Romano-Provençal appearance. Damaged by the bombings of the Second World War, it was extensively restored after the war.
