PARC NATUREL RÉGIONAL LIVRADOIS-FOREZ
Saint-Gervais-sous-Meymont is a regional nature park with a number of cultural activities.
Today, the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park brings together 169 communes. This label testifies to the richness of their heritage, landscape and culture. Created in 1986 to respond to the challenges of demographic decline and imagine a model of sustainable development, the park fosters cohesion between inhabitants, elected representatives, associations and professionals. Together, they are working to manage resources wisely, preserve natural and cultural heritage, and develop eco-responsible tourism. Opening up to the world through culture, the transmission of knowledge and solidarity are also among its priorities. The essential missions are defined in a Charter, which will be renewed in 2026: they include environmental education, preservation of natural environments and biodiversity, enhancement of heritage and renewable energies, promotion of respectful agricultural practices and sustainable forest management. Joint cultural initiatives include "Passeurs de mots", which shares its passion for books and reading with as many people as possible, "Ciné Parc", which works to promote access to a diverse range of cinema, and "Bistrots du Massif", which transforms Bistrots du Massif into venues for shows and concerts, while promoting local artists. Managed by a mixed syndicate, the Park pools resources and strengthens the coherence of public policies across the Livradois-Forez region.
