Beautiful cove in the Gulf of Orosei offering a boat trip to discover the white sand beaches

The only way to know which is the most beautiful cove in the Gulf of Orosei is to take a boat trip and try them all. The white sandy beaches are bathed by translucent turquoise waters and backed by high, impassable cliffs. The show is complete.

Cala Goloritzè. Surmounted by a rocky needle, framed by rocks with holes on all sides, the cove seems to have come out of a dream. The tiny white pebble beach is the most photographed of the Ogliastra. It has been protected since 1995 and regularly appears in the lists of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. The exceptional waters get their clarity from the natural underwater springs that flow 200 meters away. The beach was formed in 1962 following a rock fall.

Cala dei Gabbiani. Less frequented than Goloritzè or Mariolu, this cove has the same exceptional characteristics: crystal-clear waters in shades of blue-green, a cliff polished by the winds, a white gravel beach. It is often listed as one of the "most secret beaches in Italy".

Cala Mariolu. The mariolo, or monk seal, was a regular visitor to these waters until 40 or 50 years ago. For the inhabitants of Baunei, Cala Mariolu means "snow powder", like the white pebbles that characterize its wonderful beach with transparent and turquoise waters ideal for snorkeling. It is easy to understand why Cala Mariolu is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

Cala Mudaloru. At the end of a deep gully, this cove is overlooked by the tourist itineraries because it is in the shade most of the day. Ideal for hot days.

Pools of Venus. The joy here is to dive from the rocks into the curaçao water.

Cala Luna. It may not be the most beautiful beach on this stretch of coastline, but its width makes it possible to enjoy it quietly, and above all its caves are an opportunity for unforgettable explorations and photos.

Fico Cave. To the north of Cala Mariolu, these caves can be visited between 10am and 3.30pm every day between May and October. This cave was discovered in 1957 and used as a shelter for monk seals. It has only been open to the public since the seals deserted the coast. Guided tour with a fee.

Grotta del Bue Marino. The cave is only accessible by sea. Platforms have been built into the bowels of the cave and lighting has been installed.
