CALA CARTOE
The white limestone and black basalt rocks form a contrasting natural backdrop that was used as a set for a film with Madonna.
Cala Cartoe is a long stretch of golden sand framed by two hills of the Supramonte. The colours are amazing: very white limestone in the south, very dark basalt in the north. As always, the transparent waters and rocks provide ideal conditions for snorkelling. You can reach it by car by taking the direction of Orosei. This beach was the setting for some scenes in the remake of the Italian film Travolti da un insolito destino nell'azzuro mare d'Agosto, renamed A la dérive with Madonna and Adriano Giannini.
