MUSEO DON GIOVANNI GUISO
Museum with a library of rare books about Sardinia
The nobleman Nanni Guiso has donated to the city an extraordinary collection of model theaters dating from the 18th century to the present day. Made of chiseled wood, hand-painted and enriched with stage furniture, they perfectly recreate the atmosphere of the great operas: the nighttime Venice of Don Carlos, the perfumed Provence of Violetta... Also on display are drawings and costumes from the 19th century. The library with rare books dedicated to Sardinia, such as the Storia della Magia(History of Magic) from 1587, can also be visited.
