The temple was built by Yong Le under the name «Temple of the Real Awakening», to host and honor five Buddha Buddha statuettes as well as a model of the Diamond Temple, located in India, Bodh-Gayâ (on the place where Buddha would have reached the Veil), gift of an Indian monk.

History

In 1473, inspired by the model, Emperor Xianzong built a set of five pagodas. Today is all that remains of the temple of origin, after it was destroyed by European armies in 1900 and sold stone by stone by the warlords in 1927. All the interest of seeing this temple lies in the beauty of the many bas-reliefs that adorn the white marble base of pagoda.

Visit

Succession of Buddhas in their niches and mythical animals, lion, peacock, horse, eagle, elephant… On either side of the temple, there are two staples dating from the restoration of Qianlong, on which many inscriptions are inscribed in four languages, Mongolian, Tibetan, Chinese, Chinese and Mandchou.

Un temple peu connu mais très joli. Un bâtiment central couvert de petite niche avec des Bouddha, des gravures à l'extérieur, plusieurs salles regroupant divers arts chinois. Visite sympathique et au calme
