Temple built under the North Wei dynasty (386-534) but whose magnificent pagoda dates from the Liao dynasty (907-1125). Destroyed and then rebuilt, the pagoda is 58 meters high and is entirely in trompe-l'oeil: you can't enter it (which is very frustrating...). It is the oldest pagoda in Beijing and dominates this part of the city, alone.
